What to expect
Through Pony Partnership, your child will have the opportunity to learn foundation horsemanship skills at the same time as exploring valuable life skills.
Our innovative approach enables children to develop their emotional intelligence, confidence and resilience whilst having fun.
Through a wide range of safe and structured activities, children work with our ponies to:
Build trust and form connections
Develop communication skills
Improve concentration & focus
Improve self confidence and self esteem
Tailored Programmes to suit your Child
Every Pony Partnership session is specially tailored to meet the needs of the child or group.
Pony Partnership One-To-One Sessions
During an initial consultation, we will discuss your child's needs and agree on the appropriate approach.
Every child who works with us at HERD completes a HERD Induction.
This helps us to support each child as an individual and to develop the foundation skills and knowledge of our unique HERD model.
Based on individual goals we will then develop and agree an ongoing programme to support your child.
Pony Partnership Group Sessions
during holidays and weekends, we offer special seasonal events. Please check out our events page for more details.
Examples of the ways we work with children include:
- Themed "Stages"
- Weekly or bi-weekly sessions
- Holiday programs for groups
To discuss how we can support you and your child, please contact us.
Sessions are tailored to our clients goals. During a typical Pony Partnership event, we will support your child to:
Use Mindfulness tools such as breathing and body awareness to ground and calm themselves
Understand the concept of boundaries
Establish clear boundaries and respect the boundaries of others
Practice observing and paying attention to enhance non-verbal communication skills
Build trust through connection, empathy and demonstrating gentle leadership skills
Moderate their energy levels to match the situation
Improve learning & concentration by caring for and working with the ponies
Transfer the skills learned at Pony Partnership to daily life
